Mad Hatter / Jefferson
Jefferson (German): Peaceful place. A possible reference of his struggles to find that one place with his daughter again, a peaceful one for him.
It is also a reference to the band Jefferson Airplane. They had a hit song called ‘White Rabbit’ based on the story of Alice in Wonderland
Huntsman / Graham Humbert
Graham (English): gray dwelling/homestead. A reference to how his life in Storybrooke is unnatural or without any meaning
Humbert: The Huntsman last name in the original Disney storyPeter
(Greek): Stone. Could be a reference to the fact that he was related to a blacksmith who are usually said to be “hard as stone”

Regina (Latin): Queen
Mills: - Possible connection to the Latin prefix Mal- meaning Evil. Which literally translates to ’Evil Queen’
- Possible connection to the fact that Regina’s mother might have been the miller’s daughter mentioned in Brothers Grimm’s story: Rumpelstiltskin.
- Could also be connected to ‘A Tale of Two Cities’. The job of the mill is to grind wheat for people, but in the story, it is taken as a reference to ‘grinding people’ and symbolises destruction.Trivia:
